EDUCTION: Bachelor of Science/ Education, SIUE M. Ed. Reading Specialist, Olivette University ABOUT: Michelle began her teaching career 1998 at St. Norbert School in Hardin, Illinois. While at St. Norbert School, she served as Athletic Director, Administrator and classroom teacher. In 2017, she made the move to Pleasant Hill CUSD #3. Michelle was assigned to teach 5th grade and has been teaching fifth grade since she was hired. Michelle is married to Matt and has three adult children and two grandchildren. HOBBIES: spending time with my family and traveling PETS: Rosie, the indoor cat and Bugs, the outdoor cat. They are not actually my cats. They are cats that my kids have drug home and I inherited them. FAVORITE SUBJECT TO TEACH IN SCHOOL: Math WHAT INSPIRED YOU TO BECOME A TEACHER? I have always loved being a student. My third grade teacher, Mrs. Taake, inspired my love of learning by her bubbly, positive attitude. I originally decided to go into the medical field after high school, however, changed my major to education after a lot of soul searching. GOAL AS A TEACHER: I want to instill my love of learning to my students. I want my students to grow and leave my class a strong, responsible student. FUN FACT ABOUT YOU: I have 28 nieces/nephew and 7 great nieces/nephews.
