The Daughters of American Revolution (DAR) Good Citizens Award and Scholarship Contest was created in 1934. It is intended to encourage and reward the qualities of good citizenship and recognizes high school seniors who possess the following qualities:
- dependability
- service
- leadership
- patriotism
This year, the high school teachers and students selected Thorne Holcomb as the DAR Good Citizen. Thorne is now eligible for the scholarship portion of the program where students write a personal statement and essay.
